In the structural system a grid of columns supports the horizontal beams and slabs. The cantilever acknowledges the direction of approach along the longitudinal axis. 

The architectural space is linear in form to accommodate the path of movement through the building and link its spaces to one another.

The roof plane is significant because of the impact it can have on the form and silhouette of the building within its setting.

The parallel bearing walls not only provide structural support for the floors and roofs of each unit but also serve to isolate the units from one another, curb the passage of sound, and check the spread of fire.
